In April the Resource Center published its bi-annual data book on the status of women in Israel. "Women in Israel 2006 – Between Theory and Practice" concludes the status of those constituting over 50% of the countries' population. The book is the most comprehensive of its kind and includes updated data on women's achievements, rights and status in all walks of life: education; employment, partnership and health. The book also dedicates extensive chapters to women's accessibility to social and financial resources, discrimination against women in government decisions, regulations and legislation. The publishing of the book was marked in an audited meeting in the Committee for the Advancement of Women's Status in the Knesset before a wide audience.
Following the book's publication, its' Editor Tal Tamir lectured before law students at the Kiryat Ono College and at a Women's Evening held at the "Yafa Café' in Jaffa for Arab and Jewish women.
